6-8-20 THOUGHTS


My thoughts this morning come from the 63rd Psalm.  Here’s my rendering of that Psalm.  I purposefully chose to start at the end and work my way back to the beginning.   I use this method sometimes to force myself to see things I might miss.  I don’t want to miss anything in these eight verses.

If I say “Picture a child clinging to his mother”, you get a picture in your mind don’t you?  We understand the word CLING.  A helpless baby bird can sing for joy under the shelter of his mother’s wings.  The older I get, the more time I seem to have to think in the middle of the night.  David helps me here to know what to think about.  God’s loving kindness makes my life wonderful.  I can but praise and bless Him.  When I worship God, I see His power and Glory. I am in awe!  Because God is God...  my soul thirsts for Him, as in a dry place where there is no water.  GOD IS GOD!  I will seek Him earnestly!   This is my life!

Ps 63:1-8   « A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. »
O God, You are my God;  I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. 2  Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. 3  Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You. 4  So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. 5  My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.  6  When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches, 7  For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy. 8  My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.

May your day be marvelous and lived in God’s presence!  Cling to Him today!

Oh Father in heaven, we bless your great name and give you honor and glory.  We exalt you to the highest place.  Help us, teach us, to desire you and your word extremely...  with our whole heart.  May we pursue your plans for us, for we know your desire for our best interests.  Help us to trust in you with every breath.
